I agree that the role of government in our culture is certainly up for discussion.
I’m just saying that the idea that these changes have anything to do with our budget being “in the red” is, well, a red herring.
These are social policy changes that happen to involve money, not fiscal policy changes that will happen to have an effect on the CPB, NEA, NEH, etc. It’s not a debate about sacrifices that must be made due to scarce funds. Not one bit.
