How Did My Information Get Stolen?

I’ve had a card stolen and used fraudulently 2–3 times now, so I’ve stopped caring how they got a hold of it. Each time it’s cost me nothing more than about a half-hour on the phone, and the inconvenience when your credit card number changes.

The latest was a $6k fraud in Indonesia that was at least mildly fascinating (it was very clever how the crooks cleared fraud protection for such a purchase); I could write it up if there were interest.
