Pro Tip for Traveling: Stash a few packets of “Oral Rehydration Solution” in your luggage; you can get the stuff from Amazon for a few bucks. This is a WHO-developed beverage created for this precise purpose (rehydrating diarrhea victims), and is even the standard international treatment for cholera (which makes the 24-hour flu seem about as serious as a stuffy nose.)
It doesn’t taste very good (vague weak salty-sweetness), but it’s just as effective as IV fluids, only without the need for a doctor visit. Combine that with some Immodium, and you are good to go (or, stop going, as the case may be.)
