Sometimes A Robocall Isn’t A Scam
Megan Reynolds

The call was still extremely illegal on the part of the caller. Unsolicited robocalls to cell phones to sell something are a huge no-no. (Cell phones are never supposed to receive unsolicited telemarketing calls; they don’t even have to be on the Do Not Call list.)

Maybe they rejected you for your program because they didn’t think they could convince you you needed help, or they thought you couldn’t pay, who knows. What is pretty certain is that whatever an illegal robocall is selling is more likely than not to be a scam of some sort. Legit operations do not sell their services in such a blatant, this-is-not-a-grey-area, way.
