The new retainer is going to cost a bit. If she can get away with an “Essix” retainer (a clear plastic tray that can often be fabricated in an orthodontist’s office while you wait), it may not be that bad. If she needs a “Hawley” (the colored plastic things with wire embedded in them), that’s going to be $300+, I expect, as it has to go out to a dental lab, and some fairly skilled hand-work has to be done.

But either option will be WAY cheaper than letting her mouth relapse further and having to do braces all over again.
