Should I Tell A Story?

Should I tell a story, or should I criticize all that’s wrong?

What difference does it make — whether I write or do not?

Should I talk about economics, or should I pen a song?

Probably, it does — Probably, it does not.

There is a ‘me’ haunting my works; his shadow spreads long,

Which bird would enter such caves — dare touch damp thoughts?

There is an ‘I’ feeding over these grounds; his fangs lust strong;

Which tulip would brave this dry terrain — challenge the drought?

Should I tell a story, or should I criticize all that’s wrong?

What difference does it make — whether I write or do not?

Should I talk about economics, or should I pen a song?

Probably, it does — Probably, it does not.
