Problem: not everyone produces gametes. They still have a sex on account of their chromosomes, genitalia, secondary sex characteristics and hormone levels. Three of these attributes can be altered from male to female, or vice versa. So, trans people who go through a complete medical transition are at least 3/5 their identified sex.

Sexual dimorphism in the human brain is well established (and uncontroversial) in modern science, by the way.
