Painting white on white

The weekend of the 4th of July we decided to make a painting with two ideas in mind:

  • White canvas, with white paint, we would create textures using different strokes and materials to represent San Francisco.
  • Built using recycled materials (Ikea spare wood, spare paint from boat project, tapioca, flour, white sheet, nails and wood glue)

Part 1

Creating the canvas

Table saw to cut wood for frame
Hand saw for finishing touches
With the frame done and close to a golden ratio, it’s time to set up the canvas.

Part 2

Time to paint!

I would have loved to document more the creative process but it got a little crazy.

I will say once dried, Sebastian had to save the painting from the trash.

A last finishing touch with the Golden gate bridge in the background and…

Voila!
