First off, I respect other people’s right to their sexual preference.

However, I do feel uncomfortable when men put their arms around my shoulders, even when they do it out of friendship. I have even over-reacted a few times and felt guilty over those over-reactions and for any homophobic assumptions that led to such reactions.

Meanwhile, I usually enjoy a woman’s touch, though even then I over-reacted when a women pulled my shoulder without warning.

If two men are comfortable with intimate touches with each other, that’s their business and I have no problem with their comfort zone.

However, I have my personal space, and I prefer men not put their arms around my shoulders without advanced notice. This is more of a personal space issue than anything to do with homophobia.
