The Pacific Northwest is the perfect land for camping. You really haven’t experienced this region of the country if you haven’t slept beneath the stars which are conveniently surrounded by more trees than people. From the rocky coasts to the golden expanse of high deserts, the Pacific Northwest is a must visit destination for families. Most of the camping locations can be accessed on board a private boat charter in the Pacific Northwest.

Deception Pass State Park, Washington — Deception pass is home to three campgrounds, and three primitive boater-only campgrounds as well. Camping is very popular here, especially in the summer. It is highly recommended to do the reservations well in advance. Most of the camping sites have limited views, but they are located close to the beaches thereby offering recreational opportunities to the travelers. There are also a few hikes that leave from the camp area. You can also play and spend leisure time in the open fields.

South Beach State Park, Oregon — Located next to Yaquina Bay Bridge, South Beach State Park starts in the South Newport and stretches several miles down the Oregon coast. The historic park is the spot where one can participate in many recreational opportunities. One can jog or ride a bicycle on the paved jelly trail. In the nearby area of the campground is a playground area, horseshoe pits and a disc golf course. Other activities that you can enjoy around the park include fishing, crabbing, boating, surfing and beachcombing. Do not forget to explore the attractions namely Yaquina Bay Lighthouse, marine life exhibits at the Hatfield Marine Science Center and the Oregon Coast Aquarium.

Mowich Lake Campground, Washington — This campground is one of the most scenic locations in the park that offers mesmerizing vistas to the visitors. The crystal clear water is far more hypnotizing. The campground at Mowich Lake is the smallest of the four camping areas within the boundaries of Mount Rainier National Park. The path is unpaved and sometimes it is rough too. It is indeed the most pristine and beautiful place to pitch a tent and enjoy the magnificent views of the mountain. Take a short hike from the Mowich lake campground to reach the Spray Falls — another popular day hiking destination.

Poverty Flat Campground, Idaho — Located on the other side of the South Fork Salmon River, this paved campground houses 10 campsites, including 1 walk in tent site. On the way, there are plenty of hot springs where you can take a refreshing dip. There is dispersed camping, and the campground itself feels more primitive than others just because of how far out of the way you are. Open to those on foot, horses, mountain bikes, and trail bikes, you can also go out for fishing.

Champoeg State Park, Oregon — Champoeg State Park is the perfect place to witness the perfect amalgamation of history, nature and recreation. This is the place where Oregon’s first provisional government was formed by a historical vote in 1843. While touring in the park you can visit the park’s visitor center, Newell House, and Pioneer Mothers Log Cabin museums to discover pioneer life at Champoeg. Under the guidance of an expert, take a leisurely stroll to learn about the rich historical past of the pioneer town of Champoeg.
