Indie idol group CH4U membership down to six
Update (12nn 6/12/18): Hicami explained that she quit being an idol in order to focus on her studies after having to drop school for MNL48. She will continue being with CH4U as a staffer.
Update (9:30pm 6/11/18): Saki has no plans to continue being an idol after CH4U.
JUNE 11 — Through a video on their official page, CH4U revealed that they now only have six members left. Those remaining are Uriko, Aya, Crystal, Kimhui, Sunny and Eru.
In the video, Holly appeared to throw shade that only six out of what was supposed to be a 12-member group were truly on-board from the beginning.
So far, only Ellie and Mikat have come out with individual explanations as to why they left the group. Ellie said that she was no longer happy in what she was doing and so left. She did mention, however, that this is not the end for her idol journey. It is interesting to note that prior to announcing her withdrawal from CH4U, Ellie began sharing posts from MusicTales, another newly-formed local indie idol group that is yet to debut.
As of 6:30 PM, Ellie’s CH4U Facebook profile has been taken down.
Mikat’s parting message, on the other hand, was a lot more ominous and further hinted at internal turmoil as her reason for departing. Earlier confirmation about Chiyo quitting came through her personal Twitter account. She did not mention her reason for leaving CH4U.
Despite these developments, CH4U appears to be moving forward with four of the remaining members having recently performed in Pinoy Otaku Festival.
