Vonn decides to end season
Lindsey Vonn, women’s overall World Cup ski leader this season, suffered an injury to her knee on Saturday. Vonn has decided to step down from the season. She hopes her time of rest will leave her able to compete in the world championships and the Winter Olympics.
Knicks suffer great loss against Trailblazers
The Portland Trailblazers handed the New York Knicks a 104–85 loss Tuesday night. The Knicks started the first three minutes of the fourth quarter scoreless. The loss was the Knicks fifteenth loss since Jan. 20 and the Trailblazers fourteenth win since the new year.
Ivy League eliminates tackling in football practices
The football coaches of the eight Ivy League schools have all met to discuss the implementation of fewer football practices including full-contact hitting. The schools have decided that this new rule will decrease the number of concussions and various injuries that are caused in practice or because of strain on the body. The coaches have approved this initiative and now it moves onto athletic directors and university presidents for official approval.
