1.) The post was talking about “great wars”, meaning World Wars and other very large conflicts, which don’t include the perpetual state of war we have been in (U.S. has been the aggressor over 60 times since the Korean War)

2.) Everything you mention in your list at the end is very old, very badly deteriorated and definitively not as good as their equivalents in other developed countries such as in the EU, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Honk Kong, etc.
