Fear Driven Development (or FDD) or Fear Based Software Engineering is more common than we think. FDD traditionally stems from past experiences of encountering bugs or practices that tend to influence our decisions when creating something new. This is not necessarily a negative behavioural trait, it simply needs to be controlled so we can continue making the best decisions.
