iPhone as a Webcam using iOS 16

With the release of iOS 16 and macOS Ventura, Apple has made turning your iPhone into a webcam easier and more awesome than ever before.

In addition to using your iPhone as a webcam, you can also use it as a two-camera setup using a new feature called Desk View. Let me show you now how to set it up.

Step 1: your iPhone must be running iOS 16 or later and your Mac must be running macOS Ventura or later.

Now at the time of making this article, we’re a few weeks away from the launch of iOS 16 so I’m using the beta releases of the software. So, if you don’t have those or don’t want to use beta versions, then save this article for when iOS 16 is available.

Step 2: you need to be signed in with your Apple ID on both devices, the Mac and the iPhone you want to use.

Not only that, but Apple also requires that two-factor authentication be turned on. Here’s how to do that.

Step 3: you need to enable a setting called Continuity Camera Webcam on your iPhone.
