MAMA, WE LOOOVE YOU!!!

Just exactly what it says on the tin/blog title: here are 4 absolutely lovely things to do for Mother’s Day in Crystal Palace this Sunday, March 11th — and show the mamas how much you love them.

1.TAKE THEM FOR A SOUND BATH

If it’s good enough for Kendall Jenner, it’s good enough for ya mama.

Check out this gorgeous-sounding Mother’s Day chill morning at Upper Norwood Library Hub which kicks off with a ‘Sound Bath’, ends with a yoga session — and has lots of lovely health and lifestyle tips for busy mums offered in-between.

For those not in know, a Sound Bath is mediation to music which uses Himalayan singing bowls and gongs to help soothe anxiety and encourage mindfulness.

Given we saw Kendall trying the therapy for the first time on Keeping Up With The Kardashians just last week — Crystal (or should that be Krystal?) Palace is well ahead of the kurve (sorry) on this trend.

ADDRESS: 39–41 Westow Hill, SE19 1TJ

TIME: 10am-12pm

COST: £35

BOOK: clubgaiaretreats@gmail.com

2.TAKE THEM FOR AFTERNOON TEA

I’m a BIG fan of our stylish coffee and cake emporium Dalhousie. I think it does one of the best cups of Joe in Crystal Palace and its cakes – from classic Victoria sponges to creative ginger blondies – are IT.

Dalhousie also does an absolutely epic afternoon tea which would make the perfect Mother’s Day treat and includes freshly baked scones with jam and clotted cream, an array of mouthwatering mini brioche sandwiches – plus a selection of its gorgeous cakes.

There’s unlimited Jing’s loose tea and the option to make things boozy by adding a glass of bubbles.

You have to book in advance and I’d recommend asking for a table for you and mum/s on its super-chic upper floor which has exposed brick and lots of pretty butterfly/insect prints on the walls.

ADDRESS: 1 Westow St, SE19 3SD

OPENING HOURS THIS SUNDAY: 9:30am-6pm

COST: £21.50 per person, £23.50 per person with a glass of prosecco — tasty gluten free options are also available for an additional £3

Why not treat mum to a gorgeous afternoon — or even breakfast/early evening — tea at Dalhousie?

3.TAKE THEM FOR A SLAP-UP MEAL

If you’re looking to take mum out for a slap-up meal, you really can’t go wrong with Crystal Palace institution Joanna’s.

The restaurant has been a neighbourhood favourite for almost four decades — and turns 40 in just a few week now! — and while it is famous for an epic burger and cocktail list, it also knows how to plate up a fine lunch and dinner.

This Mother’s Day it is offering a wonderful three-course meal with a range of choices for all tastes — check out the full menu below — and is great if you need a large booking.

It can seat a table of 20 with 48-hours hours notice if you’re making this Sunday a family affair, but but if it’s just you and mum why not ask for a window table to take advantage of its amazing city skyline view???

ADDRESS: 56 Westow Hill, SE19 1RX

OPENING HOURS THIS SUNDAY: 10am-10:30pm

COST: £33.50

If your mum’s an out-of-SE19-er, she’ll love Joanna’s window table views of London

4.TAKE THEM TO A SUPPER CLUB

I’m really loving the series of supper clubs Brown and Green has been putting on at its Crystal Palace Triangle base of late — and its Mother’s Day take is no exception.

This Sunday glorious Country City Catering is taking over the cosy brunch spot with a fine three-course meal of potted shrimp, lamb with artichoke and apple rose tart — as well as canapes and an aperitif!

Plus you can buy extra, tasty wines from the cafe on the night.
