From 0 to 1

I am aware of the steps I have to take to reach 100. But I try not to worry about all of them. I just think about the very next step, that’s it. It just makes things less scary. An example? Ok, let’s try and put down the steps to get into a better shape: Lifting up those heavy eyelids→turning off that horrid alarm→getting out of your heavenly warm blanket→splashing cold water on the face→changing clothes→wearing shoes→taking out car/bike→reaching the gym→and then the same cardio, machines, and weights. Yikes! Just thinking about all these eery steps to get fit, I would convince myself so hard to not even open my eyes.
Instead, what I do is, I imagine the ‘super fit me’, and then just open my eyes (to simply wake up). Then just freshen up (to feel good), might as well step out for some fresh air, ok let me go to the gym, play good music, try new workouts, sweat & glow. What a feeling! I am telling you, it really works.
Some time back I was asked to design an entire CRM application (customer relationship management) for our product. It has got Leads list, Lead details, Tasks, Appointments, Live Chat, Text + Call + E-mail Communication, Insights + analytics, Salesperson + Manager + BDC Dashboard, Widget builder, Planner, Dashboard Builder, Employee scheduling, and then Setups for all of these. Phew! where do I even start? Research, explorations, validation, visuals, and interaction for all of this. Scary. Really Scary.
But then after quick planning, I just focused on Leads, and nothing else. Then just Communication, and so on. It worked out pretty well. I actually ended up enjoying every single step much more.
Just go from 0 to 1, then 1 to 2, 2 to 3 — without worrying about the rest of the journey. Ok?
