You’re exactly right Thomas about the CV (curriculum vitae), which is why this post is about resumes (a slightly different type of document).

And, yes, things like the scenario you described still happen today, which is the point of this post (no arguments here). The suggestions I provided are designed to keep those WOMEN (not girls) from being able to even tell if a candidate is old enough to be their dads.

To answer your question about not writing in first person: the statements on a resume are supposed to be concise, therefore you wouldn’t use full sentences or full paragraphs. Instead you’d use short, bulleted statements to indicate your results of your duties and accomplishments/achievements. Like you said, statements in a resume should be simple.
