Ashit Desai

Ashit Desai was born to a Baroda-based family, a family where in music resonated from the very early childhood of Kunjbihari and Mayuri Devi’s son Ashit. Ashit graduated as a commerce student and later on took a diploma from MSU, the very reputed college of India. To pursue his soul’s calling he left or Mumbai. One notable period in his musical period is his sojourn with Pandit Shri Ravi Shankar.

Some of his evergreen songs are Mukkadarna Sitarni, Prasango Pandada na, Ek pachi ek, Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram, etc.

Pranlal Vyas

Pranlal Vyas was one of the most famous musicians. He had a golden four decade long music career. He started his music career as a tabla player and went on to sing bhajans, qawaalis, scores in commercial cinema etc. It can be successfully be said that he changed the face of Gujarati Bhajan and folk songs.

His evergreen musical pieces from hit gujarati albums are Duha with Naresh Kumar and Laxmi Chhaya, Baar Baar Varse, Kanuda Tari Gowalan.

Damyanti Bardai

Damyanti Bardai is famous for her Bhajans and Garbas, her melodious voice and charisma has won her many accolades in life. She has sung many Gujarati traditional folk songs. She has also lend her voice for a beautiful Sooraj Barjatya movie movie Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, starring Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai.

Praful Dave

Praful Dave was born in Hadaala a small village, in Tankara district of Rajkot, Gujarat and became one of the five artists to have performed in the Royal Albert Hall in London. His innate love for music was oso profound that it made him leave his well established medical practice. It sure did make him feel like jumping in the dark when he decided to follow his dream but his excellence got him his first commercial cinema song with the legendary Asha Bhonsle with the title Maru vanraavan che rudu.

Along with his Prabhatiyas, Garbas and Stutis some of his other songs that will make you fall in love with Gujarati music are: Thodo toh Visamo, Meghraj Jaag Je, Jode Rehjo Raaj to name a few.
