Jeff Bezos surpassed Bill Gates today. Next Up world domination. The World Wide Web that is!

I am sure nobody needed my article to know that today Jeff Bezoz surpassed Bill Gates on the list of “financial bragging rights”. What most people do not know, however, is the real reason why!
While the average person may know Amazon as being the world’s best online retailer or perhaps a pioneer in the Book selling industry with innovative products such as Kindle. Others know Amazon as a game changer in Artificial Intelligence (AI) with the release of Alexa and similar products. True that those items have been the main drivers for Amazon’s past success. It does not, however, even begin to tell the story of the future of Amazon’s dominance. Hence the high market valuation of future earnings.
For myself and my team and even some of our clients, we know otherwise. Amazon’s true dominance is in the world of Cloud computing through their incredible Amazon Web Services or AWS segment of Amazon.
I know many have heard of Cloud Computing, but one thing I have found is that most have no real clue as to what it really means. Some I encounter believe that it is just storage capacity on the cloud solution. This could not be further from the truth. It is not my intention and nor is it possible to tell all the real benefits and capabilities of AWS in a single article post. What I can tell you, however, that it is not a Google Drive or Dropbox solution. AWS rather allows a company to build a virtual Infrastructure (IAAS) with all the bells and whistles of a local setup that can run over $20,000 to start not to mention all the high costs of “Geek” maintenance etc.
Now in English!
For example. In the past, if someone had an idea for an app, they would need to invest in Hardware, software, license packs and the like. If the project went south they would find themselves with a bunch of “stuff” they no longer need or have an outlet to resale. Amazon AWS now allows the developer to work with a basic laptop using high-speed internet access to plug into AWS and develop apps using powerful Infrastructure services on an as needed basis. If the app succeeds then AWS automatically expands with demand (Elasticity). If app failes then the company can simply scratch that idea and move on to the next. So a $20k to $50 loss now turned into a $200 — $300 loss at most.
This is why 1/3 of the World Wide Web is now run through AWS servers. How do I know this? Well…. If you recall how on Feb 18 2017 when AWS experience an outage. More than 1/3 of the entire web went down with it.
Now that is Power! World Wide Power!
The huge silver lining in this whole story is that instead of reading and wishing that we could be like Jeff. You need to realize that the tools available to us with AWS can easily turn our idea into the next big thing, without breaking the bank.
At pandacloudsystems.com we use our expertise and certification in AWS to help launch big ideas from humble beginnings.
