Your today is calling. It’s sending you hints at 6 a.m, it’s calling you once at 10 a.m. And then, by the time you finish lunch, you have 2 missed calls. As you open your front door and set aside your keys, you’ve gotten 6 missed calls. Mind you it’s 7 p.m now.

And at 11:59 p.m, it sends you a reminder to pick up the damn phone tomorrow.

Yesterday at 11:50 p.m, the reminder hit me straight in my face and the chill that grasped my body ravaged it’s way. From my bones to my skin. From the hemoglobin in my blood to the dimples on my face.

Today, I picked up the call.

Today, I witnessed the longest ten minutes of my life. And in those ten minutes, I laughed and I cried. I cried because I didn’t know whether I would live long enough for my reports were due in those ten minutes. I’m not afraid of death, in fact its quiet enticing. What bothers me are the people I would leave behind in my quake and their sorrow.

Your today is calling and it’s asking you to live your life. It’s asking you to pursue your dreams. TODAY. It’s asking you to do all the things you want to do. TODAY. It’s telling you to live your life to the fullest. It’s asking you to live, laugh and love. It’s also telling you to cry if you want to. It’s telling you to accept and love yourself. It’s also telling you that life is short, so tell your humans you love them.

Because you’re here today, but what if you’re gone tomorrow?

Today I learnt — What will be will be, Que Sera Sera, Que Sera Sera.

To a large extent, you can’t control what will happen to you. But what you can control is the way you react and deal with it. You can either choose to take it in your stride and make the most of your time or you can let it bring you down. I’m going with the former you know because I believe in it.

Your today is calling you. One day, you won’t wake up because it would have stopped calling.

Your TODAY is calling you. Do yourself a favour and answer the damn phone already.
