I am in Love — Rejoice
…Where Rationality Led Me
If you have been around me recently, I have probably talked to you a bit about joy. I have probably asked you if you have seen the movie “The Little Mermaid” … particularly if you have seen this scene:

…Either she’s delusional, or she’s in love!

This scene defines my life at the present moment. If you have been around me, I’m sure you can attest to this.
The conversation goes something like this:
You” “That’s awesome. That’s why I like you… You’re always so happy. It’s nice that you can be so happy all the time.”
I find it interesting that often the people around me feel the need to make Joy something that KATE is especially gifted with… as if Happiness is something innately apart of my personality. They compare themselves to me and not finding their own Joy, they decide that it is because Kate’s Joy is simply a gift unique to Kate.

Joy is not optional.
I do believe that Joy manifests itself differently in different people… but that’s just it: Joy manifests! Joy takes hold: it expresses. Within Joy there is no room for anxiety or stress. There is no room for depression or anger.

Here is the other response I often get:
“I am rational, and you are emotional.” …this is my favorite response because it DOESN'T EVEN MAKE SENSE!

Love is not blind. Love DOES change our vision of life… Love brings us to a place of single-mindedness. We stop seeing and thinking about things according to reality and we begin seeing and thinking about things according to the person we are in love with or according to the relationship.
This is the reason for my Joy. I am in love… I do not see life in the light of present circumstance. I see life in the reality of Christ.
When you RATIONALLY think about who Jesus is,What Jesus did for you, the fact that Jesus is alive, that God’s Spirit lives IN YOU, and all of the implications of these truths, the more In Love you will fall, the more emotional you will become, and the more you will see life in the reality of Christ.
We are not meant to live lives where what we believe, how we feel, and the way we live do not match. Wisdom sees the implications of truth, and knows how to live applied theology.
Jesus is the revelation and manifestation of truth. Jesus calls us to live in Hope and Faith… to have a vision for truth and to walk in truth. It is “the Spirit of truth” who helps us to see and know God.
So HOW do you you think rationally about Jesus?
- Pray for “the Spirit of truth.”
- Walk in Hope = Look at Jesus (Because Jesus is the revelation of truth.)
- Walk in Faith = Talk to God, Listen, and Respond (Because Jesus is the manifestation of truth.)
- Rejoice Always — You will not have Joy until you begin to Rejoice!
- See God. Hear God. Love God. Love People.
God-given emotions are good. Get Wisdom. Get Joy.
