Hi Kiara! For the people who are yet to be introduced to your music, kindly tell us something about yourself!

Hello and thank you for the interview! I’m Kiara Nelson, a 22 year old artist from Finland. Born in America and raised in Finland. I’ve released 2 singles and one feature song with my production and songwriting team, M-22. I aim to make music that makes you feel good and makes you want to dance. Three words I’d use to describe my music would be catchy, sweet and confident!

Was there anything that you planned out to do before setting out in the music industry?

Honestly, no. I’ve never wanted to do anything else than music and I’ve never had a backup plan!

You recently released your new track “Kisses For Breakfast” Congratulations on that. What was the inspiration behind it?

The song is really special to me and it felt like the perfect timing to put it out this summer. The song is a sweet and catchy song about meeting someone and realising you really like them and want to hold on to them even if in it’s something that you normally wouldn’t do. This person changes you for the better and makes you want to give them kisses for breakfast everyday. It kind of describes the beginning of a relationship.

It’s such an exhilarating track! What was the creative process like and did you face any challenges during the making of the song?

Thank you so much! The song came about really fast. Me and my team always have the best time writing and making music and this song was really fun to make. We actually didn’t have any problems during the making of the song. After we came up with the hook, it felt like everything else just wrote itself!

You also dropped a phenomenal music video for the track. What was the idea behind the whole concept for the video?

Thank you. We tried to make the best out of the lockdown situation with my director and I’m super happy with the result. The video is dedicated to lovers apart because of the situation we were all in. So basically sending videos to your partner, FaceTiming and chatting with your partner whilst not being able to be together. Me and my director Tom Haigh really got each other’s visions and I instantly loved his idea for the video. It was a hard few weeks but very worth it!

If you could choose one word to describe “Kisses For Breakfast”, what would it be?

Hmm.. the word I’d use would be “ playful “. :)

Who do you look up to in terms of music?

Ariana Grande is definitely my biggest idol in music. Rihanna, Camila Cabello & The Weeknd are also super big inspirations to me.

You have garnered over 555,000 active monthly listeners on your Spotify channel. How does it feel to gain such a large influence on your music platform?

It feels surreal! It’s the most amazing feeling seeing more and more people jumping onboard to support my journey. I’m just really happy people are liking my music.

Lastly, is there anything that you would like to convey to your fans?

Just to always be yourself and believe in yourself. Follow your dreams and don’t give up even if the road gets rocky… It’s not about the destination it’s about the journey! One of my favorite quotes :)
