Lie: Donald Trump Claims he was Awarded “Man of the Year” in Michigan

The Lie Explained: On November 8, 2016 at a rally in Michigan, Donald Trump said:

“I was honoured. Five years ago, Man of the Year in Michigan. That was a great honour for me.”

Remarkably, despite the negative press coverage this lie generated, Trump repeated it less than two days later, during his speech opening election day, also in Michigan.

The Truth: There is no record of any such award ever being given to Trump.
