Are robots going to take your job?

That is what a 2013 study by Oxford is claiming. Of course you need to be included as one of 47% of people working a job in the chart below. The study shows that while more creative jobs will be hard to replace with Automation or Robotics, more simple “rote” jobs can be replaced by robots, not a few centuries from now, but the Oxford study claims that it will happen within the next 20 years.

Who is responsible? Governments, businesses, and consumers. For a small business to meet the demands of government regulations, they must either increase what they charge, or reduce what they spend and robotics is an affordable solution for businesses that can do both. Consumers are also interested in spending less, and as a result businesses are looking to robotics to make this possible.

Is your job safe?

If you are working in a job that requires creativity such as design, development, sales, or customer service you can consider your job to relatively safe. However if you are a Web Designer tools such as The Grid may quickly move your job to the endangered list. If your job description relatively matches anything on the list below, or on the chart at the bottom of this post, it would be a good idea to work on a new skill set such as Programming, or Design.
