When submerging into the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean Sea, off the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula (referred to as the Riviera Maya), you will discover another world and the beauty of what lies beneath.

Starfish

About 1,500 species of starfish occur on the seabed in all the world’s oceans, from the tropics to frigid polar waters. Starfish are keystone species in their respective marine communities. Their relatively large sizes, diverse diets and ability to adapt to different environments makes them ecologically important.

Turtles

Sea turtles can be found in oceans except for the polar regions. The Kemp’s Ridley sea turtle is found solely in Mexico and along the East Coast of the United States. Sea turtles are able to grow so large because of the immense size of their habitat: the ocean.

Stingray

They are cartilaginous fish related to sharks. Stingrays are usually very docile and curious, their usual reaction being to flee any disturbance, but they sometimes brush their fins past any new object they encounter. Stingrays are common in coastal tropical and subtropical marine waters throughout the world.

All Sorts Of Colorful Caribbean Fish

French grunts and Blue-striped grunts are quite common and can be seen on nearly every shallow reef dive in the Caribbean.
