Located 16 kms south of Thiruvanathapuram city, Kovalam beach has already attained international repute. It is the ultimate beach destination of foreigners coming to Kerala.

The 17 km coastline of Kovalam has mainly three beaches — Lighthouse beach, Hawwa beach and Samudra beach. The vast stretch of coastline presents an ideal spot for indulging in adventure activities like swimming, water diving, para-sailing, catamaran ride skiing, wind surfing, etc. You can get the perfect tan by a sun bath sitting in lounge chairs.

Lakkidi is the gateway of Wayanad. It is located at an altitude of 700 m above sea level atop the Thamarassery churam (ghat pass). Lakkidi opens up a captivating picture of rich biodiversity that includes beautiful hills, valleys, streams and lush green vegetation along with wildlife.

Major vegetation includes rainforests and deciduous forests. The region receives rainfall throughout the year. It has a chilly climate with fog and mist blanketing the atmosphere. The best place in Lakkidi is the View Point where you get a bird’s eye view of the Western Ghats and the serpentine Thamarassery ghat pass.
