day 1 — fox fears lion
day 2 — ooh lion
day 3 — ehh lion
day 4 — meh lion
moral of the story — familiarity = contempt
also moral of the story — familiarity removes fear
here’s where advertising benefits from the moral corollary aka morollary
while buying (or making any new decision), there’s a spike in what if hormone. Fear runs rampant, in sales circles this is known as temporary madness. this madness is grounded if the guy in front is a cool, credible guy. i mean it’s not grounded, it’s just a little less conversation, little more action. A little less fight and a little more spark. Satisfy me baby
now advertising tries to be cool & fails miserably, but is great at the library friend technique.
day 1 they don’t even see it.
day 2 they don’t notice it.
day 3 they are aware that it is there.
day 4 they have a fleeting sense that they’ve seen it somewhere before.
day 5 they wonder what it sells.
day 6 they wonder who pays for this shit.
day 7 you are broke, just kidding, they buy.
& I’m talking about stuff with shit primary appeal like sanityware and shit. Even that can be spiced up. with (backspace backspace backspace)
so advertising doesnt breed contempt, only a brief I know that guy, lemme try.

I hate the airtel lady for those 30secs trying to act like airtels holy water. but then again, all she creates in me is a change the channel response. thats why I love TV, teleport to a different tatasky timeline. (341 in total — yeah I counted, no I didnt Im just a little liar, but they are the number of channels in AIIMS private ward DDC or is it DCC who knows, a company who doesnt care for the interface and only the barebone TV which I loved for it gives me the TV, spares me the upselling, kind of like the charles schwabb of satellites, i didnt even know such companies exist)
also not many people can carry 2000 contempts a day
thats right an average person from billboard, tv, radio (too bad you don’t radio, i mean its alright I also hate those jingles), magazines, what else, internet, social media, online newspapers, sports stuff, youtube, whatsapp,,, goes on to watch 2000 ads a day, not counting the plethora of logos around you.
but then again an average person has 1 x & 1/2x 1/2y, pretty much a recipe for zombies, so i skepticise that number
See I dont care about medium, I had a cool empty instagram landing page & clicks were coming like crazy (like 0.7%), but every few days google’d realize oh this guy’s cheating, he ain’t providing meaningul content, while I just didnt wanna bore you with stuff you’re already skipping through the day. & I’d just change the username, catch me if you can. but I thought oh i’m too lazy to change even the username
now tell me who cared more for you, google on your behalf asking me to create “meaningful relevant content”, or me who knew you dont care about advertising, i mean i dont care about advertising and i am in advertising, i use adblock, & i love adblock.
