Jesus Christ's crucifixion can be thought of as God's PowerPoint presentation. For the benefit of humanity. Of course, resurrection, and ascension are the final few slides.
The crucifixion was God's plan, some of the details were revealed a full thousand years in advance. For example, that not one of Jesus' bone will be broken was predicted way in advance, generations before.
Basically God got sick and tired of being misunderstood. Don't worship idols. Don't make animal sacrifices. Just talk to me.
You make animal sacrifices. God sacrifices his own Son for you. God loves you more than you will ever know.
Jesus is direct information. Beats all the gods and goddesses invented by creative people.
The message is simple. Love God. Love one another.
