Privacy And Technology

Modern technology has been a boon but modern technology also has rained havoc on the very concept of privacy. The surveillance state is a totalitarian state. In countries that don't even pretend to be democracies, the idea of total surveillance is nothing less than silent terror. The soul is terrorized even as there is no evident violent oppression.

Humanity has to get privacy right, for bigger things are at stake, bigger things like survival, for example.

The technology that has made total surveillance possible is nothing compared to what future technology will make possible. Artificial Intelligence, genetic engineering, nanotechnology all could end up being tools for The Devil.

The way to get it right is by realizing it is not a win some lose some fight between equals between God and The Devil. God is overwhelmingly more powerful than The Devil. Does not even compare.

The spiritual has to be at the center. Humanity has to be in charge. Humanity has to affirm the basic values. And then humanity may benefit from the advances in technology.

Getting privacy right would be a reassurance. Rectifying the eco balance is not just about survival, it is indispensable to the future advances.

Spiritual awakening is the most vital in places where people don’t even bother going to church. The thinking is, if you know a lot of science, you have grown out of any need for religion. Religion on its part has stuck to The Truth, good thing, but has distanced itself from changing circumstances, bad idea. Spiritual workers are to be able to translate The Truth into evolving circumstances. Learn your science, learn your technology, or at least learn to collaborate. Don’t just wait for them to come to you. Go visit them in their places of work.

Don't worry about The Devil. Wake up to God. Be prayerful. And master your free will. So you may go on to see unprecedented riches on earth.

God created your mental faculties. All top scientists in history have said they are but trying to fathom God's mind. Stephen Hawking claims God created the integers. Learn from those masters of your domain. Pray to God.

Getting privacy right would be a sign humanity is ready for big advances in technology. What the paparazzi did to Diana is not any different from what Oswald did to Kennedy. The law has some catching up to do. Famous people and public figures don’t lose their right to free speech, their right to vote, or their right to privacy. Let them walk around. Don’t allow The Devil to “get them” through you.
