This scene is just the epitome of the series’ ethos in my opinion. 
Reminds me how much I freaking loved this show. Out of million shows out there, this one, in particular, touches a different chord altogether.

About this particular scene — 
Brilliant. Shows exactly what news should be about and exactly what the Newsroom is about: truth, honesty and equality. 
All Newsnight wanted to do is teach people about what is going on, this scene shows exactly what happens when they do that. 
Like when they possibly make a hard decision, and possibly the wrong decision but to make the decision anyway, and to err on the side of caution.
