By doing this it seems that you give up the opportunity to use your site to do anything else except blog. You can’t collect email addresses via an opt-in form, or offer courses, or run ads, or Google Adsense, or anything like that. So you end up with a “blog”, that could have a huge readership, but have no possibility of monetizing. Is this correct, or am I missing something? I mean, if you don’t do this option then you could write on Medium, and point people back to your “site” to learn more, or to grab your book, or download a free e-book, or join a community, or…..really anything. I’m not trying to bash this, I really would love to learn the benefit in case I am missing it so that I don’t overlook the opportunity. Thanks.
