Helping People Feel Valued

I reconnected with a girl from this mission this week. Something I really appreciate about her is that she gives very specific, sincere compliments. She told me a couple of things she specifically remembered and appreciated about me, and it made me feel valued and closer to her. The ability to sincerely compliment people is my ‘what’ for the week.

This is important because when you compliment someone and bring up a specific example you’ve noticed, they know that you truly care enough to watch and to remember. I don’t think there are many better ways to develop relationships with others and grow closer to them.

Because I’be been reminded of the importance of this, I’m going to give someone a specific and sincere compliment at least once a day. I believe this will not only brighten the lives of others but help me better notice the good in all people.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
