Though you said you won’t read comments, I am compelled to say something to whoever does.
Thank you for sharing your story. It is indeed a strange world we live in when our words are judged by people we don’t know. The speed and the scope of comments can be overwhelming whether you are vulnerable or write fluff. If I don’t have any human connection with the content, I suddenly have the impulse to say whatever mean thing strikes my brain first. I am guilty of that as much as anyone else.
The challenge for readers of vulnerable content is to take a minute to truly be empathic and put ourselves in the writer’s situation. We all experience grief and struggles. It takes effort to find a connection point and express empathy.
Will this ever improve? I’m hopeful it will. But technology (and human nature) tends to cause separation and confusion, not unity and understanding.
