Hurricanes, planes, and Raspberry Pi

Had a very long weekend of dodging hurricanes, catching planes and up with school work and work work. Made a fun little precip map for my GIS class, realized after I’d submitted that the colors should be flipped… Had a really good time making that though!
The only time I was able to have with my new Raspberry Pi was while I was putting off packing for my trip but the small amount of time I spent with it was learning expereince in the best way possible (in that I didn’t get totally frustrated.) I decided to take it nice and slow and just go through some of the raspberry tutorials that come with Noobs. I had no idea what the Pi was capable of and am now more than ready to dive deeper into it! I can see why this is such a great learning tool for children. Fun, nearly instant, rewarding results for a significant amount of effort and concentration.
Hopefully I’ll be able to catch up with life stuff this coming week and mess around with it some more. I suppose Wednesday is supposed to be nice, cold and rainy so maybe I’ll pull up a space heater and wrap around the Pi for the night to stay warm :)
I’ll be sure to follow up with that along with the PHP I’ve been learning through code academy.
… bon voyage
