3 Easy Steps To Get More Views On Medium
I might be totally in love.
The website Medium is chock-full of content. Regardless of your writing, you have seldom right to complain with the tools at your disposal. I want to share them with you.
But first, some background:
Through my work I’ve generated thousands of impressions. I was happy to achieve so much in so little time, but was tired and frankly bored with the process.
Now that I’ve got concepts like SEO and impressions under my belt, I felt it only necessary to share with you these tricks. Think of them as hacks for more people to see your content.
Remember, it doesn’t matter what you’re into.
I’m not going to pretend to know what you’re interested in.
Maybe it’s poetry, science, sex, or politics. That’s not important. What’s important is that you achieve more with the platform you have.
HERE’S 3 EASY STEPS:
1.) Tag Like No Tomorrow.
You might have heard this before from writers, but what I bet you haven’t heard, is that every tag is another audience you’re tapping into.
Yes, of coarse tagging is important. Anyone can write tags and everyone knows how to write them. You’ll find the trick isn’t writing tags, it’s writing the right tags.
For example, let’s pretend you write about toy trucks. Sure, you could tag an article with ‘trucks’, but you‘ll be forgetting an entire sub-category. Make your tags reach as many as possible with the correct tags for your specific audience. You’ll be amazed how much you’re missing out on.
2.) Don’t Be Shy. Post Article Everywhere.
I know what you‘re thinking: “But, I don’t want my friends/family/girlfriend to see it!” Tough luck. We don’t live in times of separation anymore. Assume everything you post everyone will see.
Fortunately, for shameless writers like myself that’s a blessing.
For example, did you know that Facebook has the highest ranked SEO than any other site? Which means if anyone searches your name on Google, there’s a 90% chance your Facebook profile will appear first.
Go ahead, Google yourself — I give you permission.
Even website like Twitter and Instagram have entire audience dedicated to everything from Parkour to Vaping. They’re certainly taking advantage of these websites, why shouldn’t you?
3.) Make Lists Into Articles.
I’ve committed this technique in this article itself. For some reason, cognitive scientists have discovered humans love lists.
They’re simple, easy to follow, and relaxing to the mind. You don’t have to think. You click and observe.
I guarantee that half of popular articles on Medium are lists. They make writing digestible, formal and best of all — easy to share.
Use them like a motherfucker.
I hope these tricks help you break through the Matrix and get more clicks.
If you liked it, please give me a like. It’ll help me out and I’d be very grateful. Good luck!
