Thank you to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology for making digital talent development programs, one of it is UI/UX Design, of which I am one of the participant. There are several projects offered to support the learning process one of which is Jago Last Wish — help to make last wish come true.

DESIGN THINKING APPROACH

I need a framework/approach, namely the UX Method: Design Thinking, where this method aims to make it easier to produce products that really suit the user’s needs

Design Thinking is an iterative process in which we seek to understand users, challenge assumptions, and redefine problems in an attempt to identify alternative strategies and solutions that may not be immediately apparent at our initial level of understanding. At the same time, Design Thinking provides a solution-based approach to solving problems. It is a way of thinking and working and a straightforward set of methods.

There are five stages to use this method, namely:

Emphatize & Define

Emphatize step is a process to research and analyze target-user’s perspective and needs in our feature. We used secondary data (others research about life insurance) in this process. After we get the data, we could move to next process: Define. We conclude all our findings by implement it into opportunity, called “How-Might We”.

Ideate

From the “How-Might We”, we can then focus to ideate solution. Step to ideate the solution is brainstorming, make affinity diagram (categorized our solution), and prioritization idea (prioritize which solution can be made now or later by dividing it into quadran).

Userflow

User flows, UX flows, or flowcharts, as they are sometimes called, are diagrams that display the complete path a user takes when using a product.

Wireframe

Wireframe is a layout of a product that demonstrates what interface elements will exist on key pages. It is a critical part of the interaction design process.

UI Design

We design 2 high fidelity design name registration insurance and registration of last wish

high fidelity design of registration insurance
high fidelity design of “last wish” registration

Prototyping

Try the prototype that we made in here:

Testing

Currently, the user can access the design and give their opinion about how to operate the “Last Wish” application. We use 2 methods including:

  1. Depth-Interview — a method which the user is interviewed regarding his usage of an application
  2. Single Ease Questions — a method commonly used in UX Metric with a scale of 1–7 points to access applications

In the interview process, we found a lot of input and insight into the design that we had made. Everyone has a different view and assessment of our design.

That’s all
