Do you dream regularly? Do you like dreaming? Do you remember your dreams?

Most nights, yes. I find dreaming intriguing, even when they’re nonsensical. Whether I remember the specifics depends on how vividly I experience it and if I wake up abruptly.

What is a daydream? Do you daydream in class? Can you daydream while you’re walking?

Daydreams are those flights of imagination your mind drifts into when disengaged from the task at hand. I certainly did in lessons that held less interest! It’s possible to daydream while walking, but that wouldn’t be very safe if in a busy area.

What is your worst nightmare? Could you go back to sleep?

My worst nightmare would be something involving complete helplessness and the inability to protect loved ones. It would be very tough to go back to sleep after a truly unsettling nightmare like that.

What is the difference between our daydreams and our dreams at night?

Daydreams have a greater element of conscious control, like an inner movie where you decide the overall direction. Nighttime dreams are far more chaotic and random, as your subconscious mind takes over the narrative.

Are some kinds of thoughts and dreams similar?

Definitely! Daydreams about anxieties or future ambitions share a root with some anxieties that surface in sleep. Conversely, joyous dream content might share themes with daytime wishes and hopes.

What’s the difference between our everyday life and dreaming while we are sleeping?

A crucial distinction is the lack of agency within most dreams. Everyday life involves making choices with consequence — that control fades as sleep takes over. There’s also a breakdown of logic, with impossible circumstances unfolding seemingly normally in the dream world.

Can our dreams come true?

This opens up interesting interpretations. Sometimes dreams have symbolic qualities that mirror unresolved life dilemmas or hidden desires. A direct “predictive” dream is very rare, yet it’s not outside the realm of possibility for the subconscious to piece together subtle cues we ignore consciously.

Do you agree with the idea that “Life is like a dream”?

There’s poetic resonance to that concept. Life holds unpredictability, strange shifts in reality, and some things defy rational explanation, much like dreams. However, life is still anchored by tangible outcomes and the choices we actively make, which is where the analogy weakens.
