About Canon EOS 80D

Canon 80D feels more evolutionary. it’s an excellent DSLR with a good combination of image quality with advanced features, great build quality, and a good price point. It’s a great still camera, the Canon’s Dual-Pixel autofocus is unbeatable for video.

Features

Sensor: APS-C CMOS Sensor with 24.2 MP (high resolution for large prints and image cropping)

Image Processor: DIGIC 6 with 45 autofocus points (important for speed and accuracy of autofocus and burst photography)

Video Resolution: Full HD video with fully manual control and selectable frame rates (great for precision and high-quality video work)

Connectivity: WiFi, NFC and Bluetooth built-in (useful for remotely controlling your camera and transferring pictures wirelessly as you shoot)

Lens Mount: EF-S mount compatible with all EF and EF-S lenses (crop-sensor mount versatile and compact, especially when used with EF-S lenses)

Pros:

Excellent battery life
Super fast focusing
Weather-sealed body gives you confidence to shoot during rains and wet conditions.
Great choice of lenses(any Canon camera would have this advantage)
Good shutter speed
Touch-screen gives you better control during focusing if you are using Live-view(for both stills and videos) and also helps you to navigate through menus and images faster and review the images in a faster way
Kit lens has good zoom range of 18-135 mm (which most of the other same priced also provide)
Inclusion of time-lapse feature is boon for many enthusiasts and travel photographers
Full articulated screen has helped me many times during hand-held shots of macros, landscapes and portraits.

Cons:

Poor low-light performance compared to other same priced DSLRs
Kit lens zoom range is good but unlike other Canon cameras you don't get kit lens with zoom upto 250mm. This is a disadvantage for wildlife/bird photographers.
Dynamic range is poor. Lots of details lost when shooting images with bright highlights and dark shadows.Although camera has in-build HDR mode, the quality and sharpness of the image is very poor. My Nikon 5500 performs much better. It has good Dxo Mark rating for HDR
Image quality detirorates rapidly after ISO2500. This is where Nikon D5500 performs much better.
RAW Image quality is poor compared to my Nikon D5500 and lesser details

My view about this :

The Canon EOS 80D is one of the best DSLR cameras for photography enthusiasts. It comes with a powerful sensor and processor and is built with exciting features that make photography and videography a breeze. It has several drawbacks but, for the most part, it offers many excellent benefits and can give great value for money.
