Every one of us carries strong memories of our childhood. Such memories, when we recall these, we wish to live our childhood all over again but as we can not, we have to live only with memories.

Now, what do you call as unforgettable childhood?

Is it being born into a rich and famous family and having a luxurious lifestyle?

Is it having all the expensive and non-expensive toys?

Is it getting fulfilled all your wishes and desires?

Is it going out of station or abroad in the vacations?

Is it inviting your friend to your birthday party and eagerly waiting for the presents?

Is having a beautiful, personal and decorated room or having always a new pair of clothes now and then?

Each one of us has a different meaning and definition for their childhood. I too have my own definition and none of the above points was included in my childhood.

I might not have realized in my childhood that the life which my parents have given me was an amazing and wonderful but now, I am thankful and feel proud of my parents and of me for what I am today.

My parents grew me up who is very strong mentally as well as physically and can overcome any challenge or hurdle.

They didn’t stop me when I was comparing myself equal to my elder brothers in working, in studying, in doing the works outside my house, in push-ups on the sill, going alone in the night. They even didn’t stop me when I was lifting a hundred kilogram bag of grains and was eating a lot of absolutely fresh butter with bread.

Did you play in the street flooded with rainwater? I remember, I used to make the paper boats with neighbors’ children and drop in the flooded street and then run behind those boats to know whose boat is running faster and how strong my boat is to sink. Believe me, It was fun but It taught me to always be at first. Even If I’m not at the top, I keep trying to be so.

Life was exciting and alluring.

A list of my naughtiness which turned to be a beautiful life:

  • I used to climb the trees to pluck the fresh fruits doesn’t matter how tall the tree was(specific trees were blackberry, guava, and mango). All this taught me the love for nature.
  • I was taught to swim the canal but never tried as once I faced snake and also was taught to jump from the two storage building in the tube well. I was made physically strong.

  • Once I was left in the forest to take care of the grains, my father never dropped me till railway station except 1st day, for which I used to walk in foggy winters and dark mornings wearing woolen cap, socks, gloves and four -five clothes for 2.8 kilometers for my studies which made me a brave girl.
  • I was always first to be selected in all the sports and always returned to school with first prize and it taught me a happiness of being at the top.
  • I had a piggy bag, the utilization of it in the crises taught me to value money.
  • I had three dogs, two rabbits, one cat and thirty-one ox (my father had sugar mill), parrots, cows, and buffaloes. Everything was taken care of by servants but I learned the love and the kindness here.
  • Being the youngest and most lovable girl, I was given order by all my elders and that taught me respecting elders.
  • I remember once my brother asked me to sit and study so that I grasp the matter at once. I still follow it.

Those days which seemed the dark days were not dark in reality rather those were like jewels which are shining today, which were helping me to grow silently with strong base.

After reading this, did you recall your childhood?

Did you link the same to the present outcome?

I would really appreciate your suggestion in the comment box. Please clap if you like my story and especially the way I have grown up.
