Well folks, it’s 2016. The year where everything is dramatically different and hardly anything will remain unchanged.
One of my many 2016 resolutions in the making is to be better about keeping my blog updated. I’m sure I’ll have plenty more to share with all the change coming up.
There are many things to look forward to and also to resent in the next 12 months. Here are just a few that come to mind.
- It’s just the 2nd day of the year and I get to be surrounded by the people I love. Today, I’m having a graduation party to celebrate my December graduation from the University of Kansas.
- I’m moving (and this time staying) in Austin in a few days.
- Whether the bonds remain tight or not, I’m lucky enough to have friends from college already wanting to visit me in Austin next week.
- I start a doctorate program next week. Not so much time off between undergrad and grad school. I love and hate that.
- Potential big move for my parents. Hopefully somewhere they can love living in and be healthy and happy. They don’t know where or when, but I’m confident it’s happening soon. Unfortunately, this means that during school breaks I won’t be coming back to my childhood house and won’t be seeing my childhood friends.
- Hopefully going back to visit KU to watch my friends graduate in May and to see how campus has changed in just 6 months.
- A much needed vacation this summer with my best friend from when I was a kid. She will graduate in May and I’ll be a few months into grad school. We both deserve it.
That’s about as far out as I can think.
So many things will change this year: relationships, home, friends, stress, school. I’m ready for it.
I wish for nothing more than a happy and healthy 2016.
