Wednesday Scripture — Hebrews 11:6

Aloha! “And without faith, it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”

At its core, this verse teaches us that faith is an essential element of our relationship with God. It is not enough to simply believe that God exists; we must also have faith in his ability to reward us when we seek him earnestly. This means that we must trust in God’s promises and believe that he will be faithful to fulfill them in our lives.

But why is faith so important to God? The answer lies in the fact that faith is a demonstration of our trust in him. When we have faith, we are saying to God, “I trust you to take care of me and to guide me in the right direction.” This kind of trust is essential to building a strong relationship with God, as it allows us to surrender control and let him lead us in the way he wants us to go.

Moreover, faith is not just a one-time decision; it is an ongoing process of trusting and seeking God. As we continue to seek him, our faith grows stronger, and we become more confident in his ability to guide us. This, in turn, allows us to experience the rewards of our faith, such as peace, joy, and fulfillment in our lives.

Hebrews 11:6 reminds us of the importance of having faith in God. Without faith, we cannot please him or experience the rewards that come with seeking him earnestly. Therefore, let us continue to trust in God and seek him with all our hearts, knowing that he will reward us for our faithfulness.

Heavenly Father, we thank you for the gift of faith and for the way it allows us to trust in you. Help us to continue to seek you with all our hearts and to grow in our faith so that we may experience the rewards that come with seeking you earnestly. Give us the strength and courage to trust in you even when we cannot see the way forward, knowing that you are always with us and will guide us in the right direction. Amen.
