Worth mentioning are also single-use passwords or “magic links”, which get sent to the user’s email inbox and are techhnically passwords or secrets, but because you can use them only once (and usually within seconds of it being sent to you, so they can expire within just a few minutes), they don’t suffer from most of the issues normal passwords have.

They do couple to your email accounts more, increasing that attack vector, but for some, that’s a reasonable trade-off.
