I didn’t want to read this. I searched Medium for ‘poetry’ and this article appeared as the first result. At a glance I almost dismissed it. But as I skimmed the first few paragraphs I was pulled in and ended up really enjoying the piece. This is the kind of writing I’m looking for on Medium. Well done and thank you.
