Summer Internship-Health and Fitness Web Application
Introduction
As due to this pandemic situation the whole nation was shutdown everyone was working from home. In this modern era everyone is looking for healthy body and physical strength. On account of this lock-down situation none is able to maintain their health and fitness. I got an opportunity to work on website as a part of my summer internship in the form of a Health and Fitness Web Application. It was an online mode internship and I was team-up with one of my classmate.
Every year the technology is getting more advance and popular, in this web browser has become most useful and most interactive platform. For any web-browser the websites are like its heart. Nowadays website have become an essential part for any start-ups, business or for major organization.
Through a single click people from different continent gets connect with the help of different applications. For small organization or a major organization its website contains a very specific and a minor information. We have created an approach to accumulate versatile information from worldwide into a single website. For instance Institute Information, Organization, Educational, Weather News, Worldwide News etc.
Health and Fitness
Before digging deep into project let’s have discussion on nutrients which are essential for our body and healthy life. There is direct relation of your diet and physical activity. Your nutrition is a key player when it comes to physical,mental and well-being. The one who is working out in the GYM, knows the importance of diet in their routine life. That’s why my website in diet-care module it covers all the basics information of nutrients that everyone should intake and know the importance of it.
- Protein
Protein is a macronutrient. To put it simply, protein is one of the main nutrients that every person needs to maintain a healthy body. It helps to repair any internal or external damage, supports the immune system and contributes to an overall feeling of well-being.
Anyone undertaking any kind of exercise routine is definitely going to need more protein than someone who doesn’t. This is because when you exercise, you are effectively tearing and breaking muscle fibres apart, which then need to be repaired by the body, which requires protein.
2. Calories
“Calories are the usable energy units that your body uses to live and build muscle”
Make sure you consume some food 30 minutes to an hour before working out (Pre-workout). Try some nut butter on toast or with a piece of fruit, such as an apple.To help build muscle after the workout, aim to get some food within 30 minutes post-workout, such as two hard-boiled or scrambled eggs with a whole-wheat English muffin. (A little butter won’t kill you, either.)
3. Carbohydrates
“Healthy carbs have a place in healthy diets — plus, they’re a crucial part of working out and living well.”
In addition to protein and fat, carbohydrates are one of the three macro-nutrients in food, and you need them for energy and fuel. When you exercise, you need something to start your engine and keep it going, and that something often comes in the form of healthy carbs.
When you eat carbohydrates, they get broken down into sugars (glucose, fructose, and galactose) and are either quickly used for energy or are stored as glycogen in your liver and muscles for use later. When you eat any type of carbs, your body also releases insulin to help you regulate an increase in blood sugar.
Let’s Talk About Website
We have discuss briefly about few nutrients which is essential for healthy body. Before started working on website myself and my project partner have prepare one analysis report in which we’ve mentioned all existing common features and which we were going to implement. Because of this at least we have an idea what we have to implement and on which task we have work. That is why we came with 4 different modules. All modules have different functionalities which is mentioned in detail in module section further.
My Work
As we’ve divide our website into different modules, We’ve also divided our task equally. Basically in my portion i have to work on whole home-page and collecting content for the website to write.Firstly, in mind-care we’ve two section which works on consulting/Packs and live consulting. So I have prepare one video frames for live consultation in mind-care module like a prototype. I don’t know the logic for live session that how to provide live session, as in-order to we want to achieve this live session functionality still we have prepare one section from where in future we can have live session in our website.
In the fit-care module we have decided to provide two major thing the tutorials from where user can have direct tutorials and our workout-packs, so we’ve given two buttons from which user can switch into their desired choice. I have prepare the tutorial section which contains the collection of video tutorials. In the diet module i want add some basic information for the diet from the starting, so i have add information into the different section of this module.
In blog module we required database and connectivity with database, so i worked on the connectivity of database whereas my project partner worked on database creation. - Fit-care
In this module you’ve two option tutorial and packs. In tutorials you’ve direct videos in which you will be taught through the videos whereas in pack you will get packs like Fat loss, Arm Workout, Mass Gain and Core workout. In this pack their will be three option for beginner, intermediate and advance according to users choice in this pack there workout (exercise is mentioned) and video both like shown below in the snapshot.
2. Mind-Care
In this module there are consist of consult-Doctor, Yoga and Meditation.Here there is one option for live consulting to doctors for particular duration. Further in yoga section there are different pack are provided which will teach how to do yoga and suryanamaskar. In mediation we are providing mediating soft musics for playing in background while mediating.
3. Diet-Care
In this module firstly there is all basic information regrading few nutrients which are essential in our body, which I’ve mentioned earlier in this article in Health and Fitness section. As shown in above we’ve create three main general diet plans for the users. you can select your diet plan according to your choice. In diet-pack there is diet chart consisting of all the meals and it divides into small meals and there is more video tutorial of diet plan.
4. Blog
Here in this blog module any user can write about facts, true information related to health and fitness. Whatever they will write it will be display on new block and everything will be displayed. It is also stored on our database which is available on our phpmyadmin.
5. Signup page
As we had implemented post module in our work ,for originality of post we required an login system which describes a user uniquely.
Learning Outcome
During the development of this project I have learned a lot of new things. Firstly whatever we learn in classroom that is not enough for this real world you have come out from your comfort zone. During this duration of my internship, I’ve learned how to work in group and how to cope up with teammates.
I learnt how to work under the pressure of deadlines. I was knowing the very basic of fundamentals of web technology. Due to this project for the first time i was working on this domain, I’ve learned many new things like how to work on back-end, deploy a website and many more. Learning is something different whatever you’ve learnt in theory class you don’t get it until you haven’t work practically on it.
Because of this project i came to know that there’s a lot more in market than i have ever imagine, In which i need to work and dig deep into it.
