The Solar Empire has descended into civil war. Amidst the chaos of the conflict, a miraculous technological discovery is made that lets humanity break free of the shackles of the solar system and reach for the stars. Filled with the best and the brightest of the species put into deep cryosleep, five great colony ships took to the void in hopes of reaching a new world for humanity: Kerberos. But tragedy ever befalls the wayward children of Earth — when the flagship of the fleet is destroyed, the resulting shockwave rouses three of the four remaining vessels from their slumber. Faced with the prospect of living — and dying — on a thousand-year, one-way trip; each ship began to develop its own unique civilisation: the zealous Holy Corporation, the tyrannical Gearbreakers, and the chaotic Metalpunks. Meanwhile, the fourth ship remained untouched by the tragedy; silently bearing its sleeping cargo onward, the colonists were blind to the brewing conflict that awaited them on arrival. Finally, a thousand years after leaving old Earth, the ships arrived on the mineral-rich planet of Kerberos. Their original mission is now a distant, faded memory — the only thing that matters now in control of their new domain. Welcome to Metalcore.
Developed by the talented folks at Studio 369, Metalcore is an NFT-based, Play-to-Earn open-world game of fast-paced mechanised combat. Take command of a number of unique and imposing war machines and fight alongside other players against other factions in territorial battles for control over the mineral riches of planet Kerberos. Players will be able to collect, sell, and use various vehicles and battle machines, craft new gear, recruit hotshot mech pilots, develop and exploit land parcels, participate in the dynamic in-game economy; and so much more as they fight for control over the future and destiny of the planet. Customise, upgrade, and tweak your various fighting machines to ensure your dominance in the conflict for control of Kerberos.
The core gameplay of Metalcore features a massive, persistent open world; with mixed combat featuring a number of powerful and fantastical mechanical aids. Dive into immersive first- and third-person multiplayer shooter gameplay and take control of powerful mechs and war walkers, behemoth tanks, and lightning-fast jets as you engage in might clashes for the fate of the planet Kerberos. Combat encounters in particular will include both cooperative PvE as well as competitive PvP mega-battles of up to 50v50 players in a single match! All combat feeds into and informs the greater conflict that underpins the world of Metalcore — the Faction War. Every player in Metalcore will belong to a Faction, and large-scale combat between Factions for control over segments of the world map will present players with both the highest risk and the most rewards.
The Metalcore economy and universe are supported through unique NFTs, with limited numbers of each type of NFT being minted throughout the development and release schedule of the game. The first round of minting will occur sometime in Q2/Q3 2022, featuring 10,000 unique war machines to be listed for public sale. These will soon be followed by the pilot, tank, aircraft, and other NFT releases! Each Mech NFT has a number of unique traits including chassis, class, type, utility & weapon slots, rarity, and level. Players owning multiple NFTs can, under certain conditions, merge or forge them together to create a single, even more, powerful unit for their use on the battlefield. You might also want to combine your resources with other players into Baronies — guild-like organisations that will allow players to lease usage of vehicles from their fellow Barons for a fee, awarded to the owner of the NFT.
