Youth and teenagers face a lot of issue like addiction, depression, low self-esteem, peer pressure, stress, cyber-addiction etc. with issue like these, they tend to believed that no one understands or cares for them. So they retreat in to a world of their own.
60% of problems can be averted if we open up and speak out. We are stronger than we think. The decision to put an end to the effect of our lives leads to others, as we pursue our goals, dreams and aspirations. Being a youth or teenager is more than wearing sparkly dresses, or going out with the finest girl. We can be applauded for making a positive change. It all start with a dream. Every success story began with a dream.
Regardless to the numerous issue that come with these, many have refused to let it overcome their dreams. Fourteen year old Robert Nay is the producer of the game ‘Bubble Ball’. This game has received more than one million downloads in less than two weeks after it creation surpassing ‘Angry Birds’ as the most downloaded from apple. Ahmad Muhammad, a fourteen year old became famous when his home-made clock was mistaken for a bomb; he was invited by the White House where he was given a scholarship to a prestigious school in Qatar. Now my favorite, an 18 year old Malala Yousafzai who is a fierce advocate for girl education. She was shot twice but she never relented, she even received a Nobel peace prize award. Thousands of people have been touched by her.

Malala Yousafzai. An activist for female education and youngest Nobel prize Laureate

I imagine a world where youth and teenagers can look up to their fellow and say “I want to do that as well. Not only that but even better”. Having a dream is not enough but to have hopes and be focused is a good start. If no one invest in you, invest in yourself. You can be a writer, the best among the doctors, lawyers, motivational speakers, etc. Don’t forget that education is just as important as having parents and teachers to guide us in areas we feel confused or generally have no idea on.
The key is YOU & I! TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A CHANGE
Let’s support the campaign on countering violent extremism, promoting support for gender and social inclusion, promoting religious tolerance and promoting dialogue and reintegration in the North East.
