I’m a bit divided on this message.

Yes, it’s important to be picky about the people, the things, the work you devote your life to. But on the other hand, if you really could optimize every part of your life — if you had such amazing foresight that you could accurately predict how valuable that new person, thing, or work is going to be, then, well, that would get old quick.
