We have been judging the things since the ages let’s use it to make a difference. I came across with this practice when I attended a TestAway event at Shimla by the event speaker Ajay Balamurugadas.

25/10 Crowd Sourcing is one of the Liberating Structures menu. Concept is to invite the group of participants ask them to put their bold ideas and choose top 10 bold ideas out of it. Crowdsourcing helps to filter the bold ideas in a way.

How to perform the 25/10 Crowd Sourcing ?

Step1, Invite a group of participants with a question, “What idea would you recommend if you are a 10 times bolder?” and explain the process which is as below: -3 mins

Ask individuals to write down their ideas on the index card or on sticky notes. Each individual will have their own index card where they will write their bold idea.- 5 mins

Step2, Participants will mill around and start passing/exchanging their cards with each other. -2mins

Step3, After passing, each individual will read and accordingly will write the score(score should be between 1–5) at the back side of the card. -Repeat until we get the 5 participants given score for each card. After completing 5 scoring round, write down the total.- 15 mins (3 mins for each scoring round)

Step4, Ask the group Who has a card with total score 25,24,23…..so on. Choose top ten bold ideas and share it across the group. -5 min

Step5, Stop the process. Ask them to think about what they observed during the process. -2 mins

Tips
Write the idea only at one side of the card. Keep other side blank where participants can write the score.
Don’t read the card when participants pass it to others, read it when moderator rings the bell for reading and scoring activity.
Avoid confusion while passing the cards.
You can not give a score to your own card, pass your card to others in this case.
Post all the card on the wall with highest scoring cards on the top.
While exchanging the cards take a feedback from the other participants, share your idea with others.

Where to use?
To prioritize ideas
To wrap up the meetings
To highlight the bold ideas before starting a conference or meetings
