Yeah, about that, ETH+ETC was up after the fork, not down.

More accurately, ETC & ETH went up, then down as a bear market ensued for ETH and ETC, and now it appears that Ethereum has once again regained the market trust and investors have turned bullish for ETH but are not bullish for ETC anymore. Whether or not Vitalik and the Ethereum development team have learned their complete lesson regarding such contentious changes, remains to be seen, but I suspect that they have and are working to put in place preventative measures to ensure there will never even be a question about such a ledger fork in the future.
